Vanessa Anne Hudgens (born December 14, 1988) is an American actress and singer.Her mother is an office worker and her father a firefighter. Her younger sister, Stella Hudgens, is also an actress and all of her grandparents were musicians.
Vanessa Anne Hudgens began her career began in musical theatre when she was just 8-years-old. She has played leading and supporting roles in musical productions including "Evita," "Carousel," "The Wizard of Oz," "The King & I," "The Music Man," "Cinderella" and "Damn Yankees."
In 2006, Hudgens got her biggest break yet. She was cast as Gabriella Montez, the love interest of Zac Efron's Troy Bolton in Disney's High School Musical, which earned rave reviews and several awards. The success of the film spawned two more installments, both of which featured Hudgens reprising her role as the smart Gabriella.
Her success in the musicals led to a singing career, and her debut album, 2006's V produced the hit single "Come Back to Me." Her second album, Identified, was released in 2008, and in 2011 she was back on the big screen in the feature film Sucker Punch. Her celebrity status was boosted by her public romance with co-star Zac Efron (2007-2010), and cemented by the publication of revealing photos in 2007 and 2009.
