Posted: 14 Oct 2019 06:06 PM PDT HELENA — President Trump put a hold on the proposed tariff increase on Chinese imports , which was supposed to go into effect on Tuesday. Because of lace and silk imports, bridal shops across the nation are on edge as they wait to see when or if this proposed increase will be enacted. MTN News spoke with a local bridal shop in Helena, who says they're prepared no matter the outcome. Linda Campbell owns Linda's Bridal Images here in Helena, and she is already taking measures to prepare if President Trump's proposed tariff increase is put in place. Campbell says, worst case scenario, if those numbers were to go up, customers would see a big impact. "A $1,000 dress would become a $1,500 dress so that's big, that's a markup that we just can't afford," Campbell said. She has signed several petitions from the International Bridal Manufacturers Association to make bridal shops an exception to the tariffs. She has also been in close contact with her vendors, and feels at this time because of the precautionary measures she has taken, there is no need to panic. "It's great to now that our vendors already are saying relax, it's okay, we've got you, we understand. They need us just as much as we need them. So it has kind of helped calm my nerves quite a bit. I am not really concerned right now," Campbell said. She added that if you are engaged and looking for a wedding dress, come into the shop, try the dresses on, and don't fall victim to online counterfeit dresses. "Every year we have girls come in with their boxes that they get, their online dresses they show us the picture, this is what it was supposed to look like, and this is what came to me some circumstances, they get a box with dress and a bag of lace and a bag of beads," she warned. In the long run, Campbell says you'll be spending more money to fix that dress, than you would coming into the shop and picking one out in person. There is no word yet on when the proposed tariff would be put into place. |
Jinger Duggar Wears Dress & No Makeup As Family Visits Los Angeles - Radar Online Posted: 14 Oct 2019 11:26 AM PDT Jinger Duggar is not a rebel anymore! RadarOnline.com has obtained exclusive photos of the 25-year-old mother of one – and it turns out when her family is in town, she's back to dressing conservatively! Radar readers know, Jinger and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, 32, made the big move from Texas to California this past summer. Since then, fans were stunned to see Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar's daughter going against the family's ultra-conservative dress code, which typically means wearing dresses and avoiding showing too much skin. The couple is currently renting a $700,000 home in San Fernando Valley, Radar exclusively reported. The property has four bedrooms and two baths, and is over 2,000 square feet. But this past week, Jinger was joined in her new hometown of Los Angeles, by her parents and many siblings, where she opted for a comfortable dress and went makeup-free. In August, fans were shocked to see Jinger step out in sunny California donning a completely new look. The Counting On star appeared bronze and blonde while attending a church function with her husband and their daughter, Felicity, 1. Then, in September, Jinger caught attention once again for wearing short shorts during a lunch outing with her husband! An insider told Radar at the time that she appeared "carefree and happy" in her non-traditional attire. For the October 8 outing, Jinger wore a khaki dress while heading to the Autry Museum. But a source revealed to Radar that her outfit must have been intentional. "Just last week Jinger was wearing ripped jeans, and before that, short shorts! The moment her parents come to town she goes back to wearing dresses," said the onlooker. As Radar reported, Jinger's massive family traveled to the west coast in the last couple weeks to check out her new city. During the vacation, Anna Duggar was spotted "frantic" by a source who witnessed Josh Duggar's wife nearly lose the couple's two-year-old son, Mason. Luckily for Josh and Anna, Jinger helped spot the little one, who was with other family members in another part of the museum. Thrifty mum bags four stunning £139 Coast dresses for just 1p each - Mirror Online Posted: 11 Oct 2019 01:36 AM PDT A mum-of-two bagged the deal of the century when she saved more than £555 on dresses. Michelle Nolan, from Liverpool, pulled off one of the best bargains we've ever seen - bagging four Coast dresses for just 1p each. "I thought it must have been a glitch," she said. But it wasn't - and a few days later the dresses, which normally sell for £139 each, were delivered. "I honestly didn't expect them to turn up," Michelle said. "They arrived this morning to my shock and they were even nicer than they looked online. The pictures don't do it justice. "This is by far the the best bargain I have ever gotten." The good news is Michelle's explained exactly how she found the deal. "I was shopping online on Sunday night on the House of Fraser website looking for a jacket for work," Michelle told money-saving community LatestDeals.co.uk . "I browsed the sale items and then selected 'sort low to high', and this dress, along with a few other Coast bits, came up for 1p." At that price though, not a lot was left. "A lot of them were sold out when I selected them, but I saw this dress and it was in stock so I ordered four dresses in two different sizes. "I ordered four as my friend is planning her wedding and I thought she could use them for her bridesmaids' dresses if she likes them." It might be the best deal she's seen, but Michelle, who has a 6-year-old son and a 4-year-old daughter, is no stranger to saving money. "I have saved a fortune in bargains I have spotted on Facebook , from clothes, perfumes and candles to tons of toys for the kids," Michelle said. "In Tesco, I use scan and shop to check prices and I have easily saved hundreds of pounds on kids' toys for birthdays and Christmas for my children as well as my nieces and nephews. "I have managed to buy baby Annabelle dolls for £8 from £50!" But her key tip is the same one she used to bag the bargain dresses. "Always check the sale categories and sort by price low to high: that way, you see what the best deals are without having to go through the thousands of sale pages," Michelle said. |
