Osvaldo Supino's "Stop the Rain" - Single Review

New music is never a bad thing, especially when it effortlessly showcases as much progress and growth as the new "Stop The Rain" single from Italian vocalist Osvaldo Supino shows. Not since his personal and brilliant "I Have a Name", released last year, have we seen the young artist offer up such an emotionally-driven performance for his devoted fans.

"Stop The Rain", taken off Supino's upcoming album, Behind the Curtain, steers clear of the overplayed pop/dance sound found on every radio station, in favor of a solid ballad-like approach where the artist gives an optimistic view of his life, even when it sounds like he's lost everything. "I've been strong, but I feel so hollow, don't know how to face tomorrow now, 'cause I'm running out of hope to hold on to," he sings on the somber verses.

While Supino's career has been mainly supported by decent electronic/pop tunes such as "Like This" and "Ma Radio", it appears the artist shines much brighter without the loud production noise overpowering his commendable vocals. It sounds like the artist is gaining more confidence in his abilities, opting for more meaningful, heartfelt ballads instead. Smart choice.

As the lead single from his new album, "Stop The Rain" is allowing listeners to go further into the artist's personal life. He isn't singing about partying or sex this time around, he is maturing and singing of his own pain and heartache. Sitting nicely besides the aforementioned "I Have a Name", Supino may have just released the strongest track of his career.
